Hyatt has signed a management agreement that will see it open its first hotel in Phuket.
Expected to open in late 2013, Hyatt Regency Phuket Resort will be located on the west coast of the island, overlooking Kamala Bay and the Andaman Sea.
The resort will feature 202 rooms plus three food & beverage outlets, a club lounge, fitness centre, outdoor swimming pool, spa and almost 400m² of meeting space.
“We are excited to bring the Hyatt Regency brand to one of the region’s most sought-after resort destinations,” said Ratnesh Verma, Hyatt’s senior vice president of real estate & development for Asia Pacific.
“Hyatt Regency Phuket Resort will follow the opening of Park Hyatt Siem Reap and Park Hyatt Changbaishan this year, and the addition of these hotels is indicative of Hyatt’s commitment to build brand loyalty through exciting leisure offerings,” he added.
It will become the third Hyatt property in Thailand, following the Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok and Hyatt Regency Hua Hin. The company also plans to bring its Hyatt Regency, Hyatt Place and Park Hyatt brands to Bangkok.
