Accor has launched its ibis brand in Chennai, as part of a major new dual-branded development in the city.
Located in the city’s ‘Silicon Valley’ area, right opposite the entrance of the SIPCOT IT park, ibis Chennai SIPCOT offers 180 modern budget hotel rooms, all with LED TVs and free Wi-Fi.
Facilities at the property include a restaurant, ‘Spice It’, which serves an eight-hour breakfast session until 12pm, plus a bar with free Wi-Fi.
The hotel has three meeting rooms which can accommodate up to 75 guests in total.
“Chennai today is regarded as one of the growing hot spots for corporates,” said JC Singh, president & CEO, InterGlobe Hotels – Accor’s Indian partner.
“We are delighted to launch our very first ibis in Chennai at SIPCOT. The property is reflective of the growing needs of corporate travellers as well as caters to the needs of tourists. The economy category has evolved in a big way, where it’s about providing service excellence at an affordable cost.”
The opening of Chennai’s first ibis coincides with the arrival of the Tamil Nadu city’s first Novotel, which has opened as part of the same complex.
