India is making its presence felt at ITB Berlin with an entourage of 80 travel agents, tour operators and hoteliers, half-a-dozen state governments, the national carrier Air India, the
Indian Railways and the Ministry of Tourism who all gathered under the Incredible India brand. Between them, delegates attending the biggest travel event on the international calendar are presenting a cross section of travel and tourism products that set India apart from other destinations. The destination USPs being driven hard to trade professionals gathered in the German capital include wellness, adventure, golf, medical, rural and eco-tourism. Event-based tourism is also being promoted, particularly in the field of sports, after hosting the Commonwealth Games in October and presenting plans to host a Formula One Grand Prix. The Ministry of Tourism hopes that the display will help drive continued growth in tourism arrivals which grew 15.1% yoy last month.
