Indian TOs boosted by marketing assistance

India’s tour operators have thanked the country’s Ministry of Tourism for enhancing the benefits of its Marketing Development Assistance (MDA) scheme, Anil Mathur reports.
Indian Association of Tour Operators’ President, Vijay Thakur, told the first meeting of members in 2009, held on Saturday, that the financial support under the MDA for sale/study tours has been doubled from INR75,000 to INR150,000 (US$1,540 to US$3,080) and support for trade fairs and exhibitions raised from INR110,000 to INR200,000.
Meanwhile assistance for the production of publicity material has also doubled, from INR15,000 to INR30,000.
