Indonesia is planning to promote the varied spread of offerings in the country to the Indian travellers. At the recently-held PATA Mart in Delhi, Sapta Nirwandar, Director General of Indonesia’s Ministry of Culture & Tourism, told Travel Daily that while Bali was a major attraction, the country had many other places to see, spread over the many islands and regions. One could do virtually any activity in the vast adventure or historic places that travellers can explore, Nirwandar said. If the proposed direct flights from India to Indonesia commence operations, the connectivity will boost traffic to the country. The two countries have enjoyed long cultural and historic relations and now Indonesia is also promoting shopping, adventure among other activities, which will spread the benefits of tourism to more wide areas.
