TUI Group chief executive Peter Long will head up an high-level line-up of private sector speakers at the World Travel Market’s UNWTO & WTM Ministers’ Summit next month.
Long will be joined at the summit by Cox & Kings CEO Peter Kerkar, World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) president & CEO David Scowsill, and Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) chairman, Hiram Cooray.
The fifth UNWTO & WTM Ministers’ Summit will play host to around 200 ministers and senior aides on Tuesday 8th November at ExCeL London. This year’s theme is ‘How Tourism Can Prosper in Times of Uncertainly’.
Tourism ministers already confirmed include Edmund Bartlett, Jamaica’s Minister of Tourism, Trond Giske, Norway’s Minister of Trade & Industry, Fatou Mas Jobe-Njie, Gambia’s Minister of Tourism & Culture, Marthinus van Schalkwyk, South Africa’s Minister of Tourism, and Dr Ng Yen Yen, Malaysia’s Minister of Tourism.
WTM chairman Fiona Jeffery said; “I am delighted with this year’s line-up of public and private sector leaders that are on the panel for the 2011 UNWTO Ministers’ Summit. All the private sector leaders bring vital knowledge and experience to the summit, which is poised to be the biggest and most successful in its five year history.”
