Iran’s aviation industry on growth mode

Iran Airport, Aviation Development Forum (IAADF) is gearing up to strong attendance.

The event organized by Pars Marlik Arya, Iranian Aviation and Space Industries Association (IASIA) and Babylon International FZE.

IAADF will bring together Iranian government departments involved in development of airports and airlines, Iranian and global suppliers to airports and aviation sectors, local and international airport construction contractors.

Iran has incredible potential, said Amin Salari, president of Iranian Aviation and space Industries Association. A US$500bn economy and 36 foreign and domestic airlines serve Iran, a number of which have recently announced plans to expand capacity in 2014 and 2015. Iran is proving to be a hotspot for airport development and have plans to increase their aviation assets manifold, said Amin Salari.

According to Civil Aviation Organization of Iran, the country will need to acquire 400-500 airliners valued at more than US$20 bn over coming decade to renew its aircraft fleet. In addition to fleet upgrades, Iran’s airport infrastructure will also see massive investment opportunities on radar, air traffic management, landside, airside and utilities requirements at airports and passenger experience will be key opportunity areas.
