Visit Isle of Wight is putting money into a new campaign to boost tourism numbers ahead of the traditional peak holiday season.
A total of GBP210,000 has been gathered by the tourism board, council and industry partners to promote the island across press and radio, with the destination also part of the VisitEngland campaign.
The campaign started last month focused on the new Acoustic Isle event being held this week but also has rural and outdoor themes.
Music inspired adverts will also appear this month.
“We saw good growth in the late spring and summer last year and whilst visitor numbers have been challenged by poor weather over the winter, we have still performed far better than the mainland seaside resorts,” said David Thornton, chief executive of Visit IoW. “This latest campaign push has been slightly delayed whilst we waited for the dreadful weather to subside, but now it’s great to see the Isle of Wight message appearing in the national press.”
