Jakarta is hoping to attract more than 1.22 million visitors this year, according to the Jakarta Association of Tour and Travel Agencies (ASITA).
“We hope more tourists will come to the city compared to last year,” ASITA secretary, Yanna Ashadi, was quoted saying in The Jakarta Post.
The city received about 1.22 million tourists last year 2007.
Jakarta also hopes to gain leverage from the Visit Indonesia 2008 campaign, which is targetting seven million foreign visitors.
