Jakarta airport clamps down on illegal taxis

Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Jakarta has announced plans eradicate illegal taxis, the Jakarta Post has reported. Airport administrator, Herry Bhakti, said that there were an estimated 625 illegal taxis operating at the airport, with the number mushrooming during the Idul Fitri holidays.
“We are preparing a joint-operation to rid the airport of illegal taxis,” Herry said, adding that the airport plans to register the taxis and manage them under the airport’s regulations.
