Jazeera Airways charts an increase in passenger performance

Jazeera Airways recently released its operational performance for October 2013. The airline reported an on-time performance (OTP) with a performance of 94.55%. As per statistics from Kuwait’s Directorate General for Civil Aviation (DGCA), there was also a five percent increase in total flown passengers from October last year driven by an increase in flown passengers to popular destinations of Dubai, Beirut, Amman and Bahrain.
The airline witnessed a 47% increase in flown passengers on the Kuwait-Beirut route in October, compared to 2012. The airline also grabbed a 40% market share on the route in October 2013. The Kuwait-Amman route during that month witnessed a 41% market share. The airline’s flown passengers increased by 38% from October 2012.
On the Kuwait-Dubai route, Jazeera Airways saw a four percent increase in flown passengers from October last year. The airline grabbed a 13% market share on the route in October 2013. Flown passengers on the Kuwait-Bahrain route increased by 17%, as the airline grabbed a 12% market share.
The report also shows that the airline served Sharm El Sheikh with a 45% market share, Luxor with a 71% market share, and Sohag with a 42% market share. For the rest of its Egyptian routes, the airline has a 24% market share on the Kuwait-Cairo route, a 17% market share on the Kuwait-Alexandria route, and a 48% market share on the Kuwait-Assiut route.
On routes serving KSA, Jazeera Airways had a 13% market share on the Kuwait-Jeddah route, a five percent increase from its market share in October 2012. The airline grabbed an 11% market share on the Kuwait-Riyadh route.
