Jet2.com is to restart its twice weekly service from Leeds Bradford airport to Budapest, starting in April 2014.
The Hungarian capital already has routes to London, Edinburgh, the East Midlands and Manchester with Jet2.com serving all cities except the UK capital.
Business and leisure customers travelling to Budapest from Yorkshire and the cities of Leeds, Bradford and Sheffield will benefit greatly from the closer proximity and added convenience.
Kam Jandu, director of aviation at Budapest Airport commented: “We are delighted to welcome Jet2.com back on the Leeds Bradford route. As the only direct connection to the important Yorkshire area, we have no doubt that the route will be very successful for both inbound and outbound travellers.”
Steve Heapy, chief executive of Jet2.com, said: “We are pleased to announce the return of flights to Leeds Bradford – a popular destination amongst our loyal Hungarian customers. Leeds Bradford is a gateway to the biggest region in the UK, Yorkshire – which hosts Tour de France’s Le Grand Depart in 2014. I’m confident this addition to our growing Budapest programme is going to be yet another roaring success.”
