Jetstar has announced that it will start flying between Perth and the Indonesian island of Lombok.
Launching on 24 September 2013, the new route will mark the first ever direct connection between the two hubs.
“As we enter our 10th year of flying, we are delighted to be the first carrier to introduce non-stop services from Australia to Lombok,” said Jetstar Australia & New Zealand’s CEO, David Hall. “The size and scale of Jetstar allows us to open new routes and provide opportunities for more people to travel more often.
“Increasing our presence in Southeast Asia builds on our strategy to be the low fares leader in the region,” he added.
Jetstar will operate four weekly flights (Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays) to and from the new Lombok International Airport, using an Airbus A320 aircraft. The flying time between Perth and Lombok is approximately three hours 40 minutes.
Lombok becomes the Jetstar Group’s 62nd port of call and Jetstar Australia’s 15th international destination.
