Head of Software Engineering – Remote/Kent – £Excellent. A fantastic opportunity for an experienced Senior / Head of Software Engineering to work for a forward thinking, tech savvy travel business in Kent. There are both fully remote and hybrid work opportunities available for the right individual.

Head of Software Engineering Responsibilities

Working in a matrix, agile environment, you will be responsible for driving the business towards microservices and API based architecture whilst contributing towards the technology roadmap. You will work across multiple work streams, influencing architectural design for the intelligent recommendation engine, machine learning and how services can enhance customer experience, the supply chain with suppliers and driving traffic the the companies new booking platform / web app built using React.

Some of the Tech stack you will be using includes React, Webpack, NodeJS, MySQL, Python, Airflow, Microservices hosted in Google Cloud, Mocha, Selenium, ESLint, GraphQL Babel.

Head of Software Engineering Skills Required

• Extensive programming experience in React of NodeJS
• Successful track record in building scalable software and web applications
• Experience leading remote or outsourced engineering teams
• Excellent leadership capabilities with experience coaching, developing and mentoring engineering teams
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and influencing skills

Head of Software Engineering Package

A highly competitive basic salary to be discussed on application and dependant on experience.

We have technology Lead of Senior Software Engineering roles which can be fully remote, whilst the Head of Software Engineering would be required to spend some time (one day a week or a few consecutive days a month) in the Kent head office.
