Senior Data Engineer – Remote – £Excellent. An excellent opportunity for an experienced Data Engineer to work for a forward thinking, tech savvy travel business in the south east of England with fully remote working available.

Senior Data Engineer Responsibilities

We are looking for a solution focussed, senior data engineer with advanced SQL writing to solve complex problems and support with a migration to Google BigQuery / Cloud from DB2. You will be working across the business on multiple data projects, looking at how we store, collect and identify new data products to add value to the business. You will work closely with the business to anticipate future data needs, constantly see improvements to processes across the data landscape and make key technology decisions. You will help the business understand how data contributes to the bigger picture.

Some of the tech stack regarding its data include; Data Warehousing (Google BigQuery), Airflow, Python, MySql, and Looker.

Senior Data Engineer Skills Required

• Extensive experience using BigQury or similar cloud based data warehouses
• Writing advanced SQL queries
• Experience working with Airflow and Python
• Experience building scalable and robust data pipelines
• Previous experience workinjg as a data engineer in a technology led business
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and influencing skills
