The senior project manager working as part of the Global Program Management (“GPM”) APAC team who has the experience and capability to exercises independent judgment to apply advanced skills, concepts, practices and procedures to support everything from several small to medium projects to very complex large programs. Makes decisions that have impact on success of project team, department, work group, and customer. Publishes regular internal and external projects status reports.
- Manages through governance structures, creating detailed project level plans that provide guidance to projects;
- Alignment and adherence to standards and direction set by Sabre;
- Supervises and/or develops and manages communication plan to include content, frequency, audience and channels;
- Conducts all Project Management functions;
- Develops and maintains relationships with key internal Sabre business units, ensures program and projects are moving forward and that they are following the Sabre standards;
- Advises senior management and executives of program / project and client status;
- Provides early warnings and quality assurance;
- Facilitates project level issues and change management resolution;
- Executes and reports on schedules, budget and expenses, risks and Issues;
- Manages projects / program from initiation through delivery till closure;
- Organizes the interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the program / project / product on schedule and within budget constraints;
- Supports the global Standard & Methods team by developing / improving processes, documentation, project management playbooks, lessons learned, etc.;
- Actively participates in global Professional Services and Consulting initiatives.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum 8 years Program and project management experience or equivalent;
- Possesses and applies expert knowledge of project management principles, practices and procedures to the completion of assignments;
- Excellent analytical skills, is detail-oriented and, interacts well with others;
- Has fluent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Chinese languages. Any other languages are additional advantage;
- Intimate knowledge with delivery methods and standards;
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite;
- Fully proficient in MS Project;
- Must be able to interface appropriately at program and project team level;
- Good track record in customer facing role and communication.
- Understands the concepts, definitions and application of project reports;
- Possesses an understanding of quality assurance concepts;
- Experience working in a matrix organization and supporting virtual distributed teams;
- Airline domain expertise preferred;
- Experience in management consulting, working for a software vendor and/or in the travel industry preferred.
