The Lao Government has announced their plan to reopen the country to fully vaccinated tourists in January of 2022 under the “Lao Travel Green Zone” program.

Under the program, Lao capital Vientiane, Vang Veng and Luang Prabang are designated as “green zones”. International entry points will be in Vientiane via the Wattay International Airport and the Lao – Thai Friendship Bridge.

This scheme will allow visitors to book tour packages on the condition that they have a Laos VISA, certificate of entry, a vaccination certificate dated at least 14 days prior to entry, a negative PCR test result for COVID-19 done 72 hours or less before departure.

Full details will be confirmed in the next few days as well as full details of the LaoSafe approved hotels and transportations programme.
