lowcostbeds, the Swiss-based trade bed bank, announced this week its plans to expand its number of directly-contracted hotels in Asia to 10,000 in the next 18 months.
“2014 has been a great year for the industry and lowcostbeds. We believe the falling price of oil, the strengthening of the dollar and the growth in our demand are key indicators telling us we must add more directly contracted hotels for our global distribution partners,” commented Adam Alford, managing director Asia Pacific.
In addition, Alford noted that Ralf Zimmer has been appointed as Regional Purchasing Director to lead the team of buyers and market managers in The APAC Region. Zimmer previously held similar roles at Hotelbeds and Tourico Holidays.
“Our sales network has delivered huge growth to our hotel partners in the USA, Latin America and Europe this year and in 2015 we are determined to match that level of supply in APAC. We aim to have over 10,000 more directly contracted hotels within the next 18 months” said Zimmer.
Next month will see a move to a bigger office to support the current growth, and the expanding operations team. “With our main office in Asia located in Bangkok we can now offer 24/7 assistance to the trade and our hotel partners in their local time-zone and language.” added Alford.
