North West-based Heritage Great Britain has opened a new £1.5m family entertainment centre in Liverpool, the first attraction of its kind in Europe.
The 13,000 sq ft Mattel Play! Liverpool opened last week by children’s TV presenters Jen and Olivia from Channel Five’s Milkshake!.
The Albert Dock attraction features three themed character zones – Thomas & Friends, Bob the Builder and Fireman Sam – a café, retail area, two party rooms and a green screen experience.
Allan Leech, CEO of Heritage Great Britain, said: “The response during the build-up and since launch has been quite overwhelming. After months of planning and preparation, we’re delighted to reveal this new concept which is a first for Liverpool.
“Everyone’s pulled together to make this happen and we’re grateful to all our city region partners, local contractors and suppliers, and to Lappset Creative who built the attraction.
“Thanks also to our partners Mattel who’ve been incredibly supportive throughout.”
As well as Mattel Play! Liverpool, Heritage Great Britain PLC owns and operates iconic tourist attractions across the UK including Land’s End, The Needles Landmark Attraction and Snowdon Mountain Railway.
