Midcounties Co-operative has won the ‘Best use of ABTA branding’ award at this year’s Travel Brit Awards, which celebrates travel agents selling domestic holidays.
Travel Professionals Ltd and Africa Safari were also highly commended at the awards ceremony, recently staged at Littlecote House in West Berkshire.
The awards programme was open to any ABTA member who uses the ABTA logo or branding to promote their membership and the value of it; whether that is through window displays, social media, direct marketing or blogging.
The judges were impressed by how Midcounties Co-operative embraced the ABTA brand and used it across a variety of their promotional channels. The company’s entry also provided comprehensive examples of where and how they use the ABTA brand or logo.
Mark Tanzer, ABTA chief executive, commented: “Research shows that the ABTA badge helps consumers to travel with confidence and so it is fantastic to see our members using our branding and experiencing a positive effect from doing so. My congratulations go to our winners, Midcounties Co-operative and our runners up Travel Professionals Ltd and Africa Safari.
“I would encourage all ABTA Members to make full use of the ABTA brand and our ‘Travel with confidence’ strapline to add value to their business. The ABTA brand enjoys 75% consumer recognition, our logo can add a real boost to marketing.”
The main sponsors of this year’s Travel Brit Awards included Bourne Leisure, Great Rail Journeys, Hoseasons, Shearings, SuperBreak, VisitEngland and Airways Holidays in partnership with Condor Ferries.
