Hoteliers, golf course owners and travel operators along Vietnam’s central coast have joined forces to form a new body to promote the region.
The Central Coast Vietnam Destination Marketing Organisation aims to promote the region as a leisure tourism destination to rival places like Bali, Phuket and Koh Samui. The marketing campaign coincides with the launch of direct Dragonair flights between Hong Kong and Danang in March 2013.
A new website, centralcoastvietnam.com, has been created to promote the region, including information about travel to the main resort towns on Danang, Hoi An and Hue.
“Our region represents a single destination with tremendous potential,” said Central Coast Vietnam’s Chairman, John Blanco. “We feel it is time to join forces with a united marketing initiative to build an appealing brand that will better represent our destination and grow visitor numbers.
“We are branding Central Coast Vietnam as the region’s leading coastal destination and a new destination for discerning lifestyle and leisure travellers to discover. We are fortunate to have a uniquely marketable product,” he added.
Founding members include hotels and resorts such as The Nam Hai, Crowne Plaza Danang, Hyatt Regency Danang, Fusion Maia Danang, Furama Resort Danang, Grand Mercure Danang, The Ocean Villas, Angsana Lang Co and La Residence Hue, plus the Montgomerie Links and Danang Golf Club.
In 2012, Vietnam welcomed 6.85 million international visitors, but only 630,000 travelled to Danang.
