Nielsen & PATA study Indian outbound

In response toindustry demand for detailed information about the fast-growing Indian outboundmarket, The Nielsen Company has joined forced with the Pacific Asia TravelAssociation (PATA) to produce the Nielsen Indian Outbound Travel Monitor2008.
Based on a sample of 2,000 respondents across 10cities in India,the Indian Outbound Travel Monitor explores the behaviour and considerations ofIndian travellers. According to PATA, between 1996 and 2006, the Indianoutbound market saw an annual expansion rate of nearly 10%, a fact that itbelieves warrants specialist investigation.
“With India being one of the fastestgrowing markets globally, the eyes of travel and tourism industry are turningto this country of 1.1 billion residents. PATA is pleased to partner withNielsen to produce the Indian Outbound Travel Monitorwhich will be a must-have reference for tourism industry managers interested intapping into the evolving Indian outbound travel market,” said Oliver Martin,Associate Director at PATA’s Strategic Intelligence Centre.
The report will allow companies to trackstrends influencing consumer destination choice, provide insight into traveldestinations, explore consumer satisfaction levels, as well as including aDestination Performance Index, providing strategic information on countriesvisited by Indian travellers.
