An Oman Air flight landed safely at DAR International Airport in Tanzania on Saturday 16 July following two burst nose wheels
“Thanks to the professionalism of the well trained crew, no further discomfort was experienced by the guests on board Oman Air flight WY707, flying from Muscat to Dar Es Salaam,” said Oman Air in a statement.
The flight took off from Muscat at 1915 local time with 158 passengers and six crew on board. The guests and crew were unharmed and were disembarked smoothly without any injuries.
A full investigation will take place to determine how this technical incident could occur, despite the thorough maintenance planning and execution.
“Oman Air’s over-riding priority is to safeguard the well-being of all its customers and staff, and the airline is proud of its unblemished safety record,” said the airline.
“Oman Air provides extensive training for its crews on how to effectively manage problems when they arise, and ensure passenger safety. It also works closely with all the airport authorities throughout its international network. This incident illustrates the effectiveness of that training and co-operation.”
