Oman Airports attends World Routes Chengdu China 2016

Oman Airports’ has returned from the World Routes forum in Chengdu, China, as the company looks to develop better air connections between Asia and the Sultanate.
The commercial operation team staged meetings with airline network managers to talk about possibilities to add new frequencies or routes to Oman Airports’ main facilities including Muscat, Salalah, Sohar and Duqm airports.
According to Oman Airports’ head of sales and marketing, Kimmo Ruotsalainen, the long-term goal is to connect Africa and Asia (specifically China) as well as Asia and Europe, via Oman.
In 2015, the number of passengers at Muscat International Airport (MCT) exceeded 10 million while the new, state-of-the-art Salalah Airport broke its record to reach more than one million passengers.
Oman Airports has said it aims to for a few new carriers to start operating to MCT this year with more planned for 2017.
