Package and cruise bookings boost Global Travel Group

Travel agent members of the Global Travel Group have seen sales increase 9% in the last year, partly in thanks to an increase in cruise and package holiday bookings.
The 400-plus members have reported an 11% increase in package holiday bookings while cruise sales are up 25%.
Around 60% of its bookings are for long-haul destinations with the US and Caribbean seeing increases of 26% and 10% respectively.
Dubai also continues to be a top seller for the group, with sales up 19% year-on-year.
“It’s fantastic to see such positive year on year growth. Our agents are reporting some stand out results to date and are utilising the support from marketing and business development teams available to them,” said Global’s managing director Andy Stark. “As we enter the traditional peak booking season it’s key that everyone is armed with an arsenal of offers and tools to ensure securing those holiday bookings is as easy and lucrative as possible.”
