PATA to establish Middle East chapter soon

The Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) hopes to establish a new Middle East chapter soon, TDME can reveal.The association said it was currently reviewing its representation in the Middle East and Indian Sub-Continent having ended its agreement with Dubai-based Fusion Marketing, which represented PATA in the Gulf, in June 2009.”Middle East representation is currently handled from Bangkok by PATA CEO Greg Duffell,” said PATA’s Corporate Communications Director Dale Lawrence.Sources close to TDME have revealed that Fusion Marketing, which also represented travel, tourism and hotel clients such as Sun International and the Maybourne Group, has closed down operations.
