And finally, some romance from Germany. Penguins living at a zoo in the town of Konstanz have been falling over themselves to woo two sexy new arrivals. The only problem is that the new females are a pair of Wellington boots, worn by zookeepers. Apparently the black and white boots resemble a female penguin, and so many of the male penguins at the Sea Life centre have become frisky at the sight of the boots, that keepers have been forced to change their footwear. The Local newspaper reported that one male penguin, named Bonaparte, started rubbing himself against the rubber boosts, leading other penguins to start competing for the wellies’ affections. The boots have had a positive impact however; since the boots were removed, Bonaparte has begun taking an interest in real female penguins.
