Plateno Hotels Group has continued to expand in South Asia with the signing of its fourth hotel in Sri Lanka.
The company has penned a deal with Welcome Regency to manage a 102-room upscale resort in Pasikuda, on Sri Lanka’s east coast.
The beachfront property will be branded as the Portofino Ming Gee Resort Pasikuda, and will feature the largest swimming pool in Pasikuda, plus two F&B outlets, a spa and a water sports and dive centre.
The resort will open in November 2015, becoming the second Portofino in Sri Lanka; the first opened this month in the coastal resort of Tangalle.
Plateno also has plans to launch its first hotel in Colombo and five properties in the Maldives.
