Poaching of rare red pandas on the rise

The poaching of the rare species of Nepalese panda, the red panda, is thought to be on the rise, the Kathmandu Post has reported. Conservationists in the Dhorpatan region have reportedly found increasing numbers of traps in the creature’s habitat, and even found one red panda caught inside a poacher’s trap. The Department of National Park and Wildlife prohibits on the poaching of the red panda, but with limited resources to patrol an area covering 1,325km
