Controversial gourmet chef Gordon Ramsay is set to open his first hotel, The Times of London has reported. The GBP4 million (US$7.4 million) York & Albany will open in London’s Regent’s Park this week, with the ten-room townhouse hotel owned by Gordon Ramsay Holdings, and the restaurant being run by Ramsay’s culinary right-hand woman, Angela Hartnett.
“We’re niche, stylish, British, real and much better value. We’re not hoteliers on a grand scale but we believe we can compete on a smaller level,” Hartnett said.
