UAE-based Rotana has announced plans to open a five-star property in the northern Iraq city of Erbil, The Telegraph has reported. The 205-room Rotana Erbil is due to open in late 2009, and will cater largely for business travellers.
“The Kurdish northern region is relatively safe and the hotel will help rebuild the country’s economy,” a spokesperson for Rotana was reported as saying.
