Royal Brunei takes delivery of Boeing 777
Royal Brunei Airlines took delivery of its first Boeing 777-200ER, which landed today at Brunei International Airport at 11am.
The airline Chief Executive Officer, Robert Yang along with members of RBA’s Senior
Management and staff gathered at Hangar 3 to meet the aircraft upon arrival.
Imam Hj Muslim Hj Abd Razak was invited to give a traditional blessing.
This will be the first of six Boeing 777-200ER aircraft that Royal Brunei Airlines will lease from Singapore Airlines. The remaining aircraft are scheduled to be delivered between June and September 2010.
RBA’s Boeing 777-200ERs have 30 Business Class seats that are ergonomically
designed to offer a unique relaxing space. The Business Class seat deploys into an
inclined full length flat-bed which, along with a plush duvet and larger pillow, are designed to offer passengers peaceful sleep throughout their journey.
In the Economy Class cabin there are 255 seats with a 33 inch seat pitch. Economy
Class passengers may also recline their seats at the touch of a button.
All seats will be equipped with personal screens featuring the SkyShow system that
offers passengers a number of entertainment options throughout their flight including hit movies, classic Hollywood films and TV programmes for all ages and audio-on-demand. A selection of video games is also available.
RBA will be utilising the 777s to replace its current Boeing 767-300ER aircraft and will operate long haul flights from Bandar Seri Begawan to the United Kingdom, Middle East, Australia and New Zealand.
