Royal Caribbean has unveiled plans for a new children’s water park that will be rolled out on the new Harmony of the Seas cruise ship.
Splashaway Bay is billed as an “interactive aqua park for kids” and includes a range of elements including the tallest water slide at sea, which stretches 30 metres, spiralling down five decks of the ship.
Other attractions at Splashaway Bay will include water cannons, winding slides, a large bucket that spills water onto kids, and a multi-platform “jungle gym”.
Harmony of the Seas will debut in May 2016, becoming the first of Royal Caribbean’s “new generation” of Oasis-class ships, which includes elements of the line’s new Quantum class.
The ship will be based in the Mediterranean for its inaugural season, operating a series of seven-night itineraries to Spain, France and Italy.
