Seabourn launched its new 450-passenger Seabourn Quest in a naming ceremony in Barcelona on Monday 20 June. The award-winning actress, Blythe Danner served as godmother to the new vessel – the sixth to join its fleet. The launch marks the completion of a three-year expansion for the company, which has seen the addition of three new liners.
Seabourn President, Richard Meadows said of the new liner; “She is sleek and stunning, with spacious decks and public rooms, luxurious suites, a variety of award-winning dining experiences, and an amazing crew offering highly personalised service. We can assure guests the very finest travel experiences when they cruise with us on this beautiful ship.”
Seabourn Quest features 225 suites, 90 percent of which offer private verandas. Like its sister ships, Seabourn Quest houses a 1,060-square metre ‘Spa at Seabourn’ – the largest spa on any luxury vessel. The ship also offers four dining venues, six bars and lounges and a host of other amenities and features, including two swimming pools, six whirlpools and a ‘marina’ with watersport.activities.
Following the naming ceremony, Seabourn Quest departed on a 14-day maiden voyage to Athens, stopping at ports in France, Italy, Greece and Turkey.
