Sharjah Tourism hosted its first GCC road show this year in Kuwait with partners from the region’s tourism and hospitality sector in attendance at JW Marriot in Kuwait City. The Authority has rolled out the road show to the GCC states as part of its efforts to showcase Sharjah’s tourism market and attract more tourists from across the region.
SCTDA Chairman HE Mohamed Ali Al Noman said that the GCC road shows are a great way to connect with the fast growing regional tourism market. “The GCC market is very important to us. After all, it is our biggest, after Europe. More than 25,000 tourists from Kuwait, among other GCC tourists, visited the emirate last year,” said Al Noman urging the emirate’s tourism sector to tap the vast GCC tourism market.
He said that the Gulf tourism market has grown in extraordinary numbers in recent years with a huge chunk being claimed by the UAE and Sharjah during the summer and Eid vacations.
The Sharjah Summer Promotions, beginning May 31st, with various indoor events and activities, are being promoted as a major attraction during the summer, said the SCTDA chairman.
