Silversea has launched a Group Amenity Point (GAP) programme for 2012 voyages. The scheme has awarded each cruise a set number of points (from eight to 21) which travel agents can use to give groups a more personalised package. This could include savings or onboard spending credit to entice clients, or points can be used to implement unexpected upgrades, a free meal or a free internet day. “This is one more tool we’re giving our travel agent partners to help them increase their sales and income,” said Trudy Redfern, senior vice president UK at Silversea. “It’s important for agents to market to groups in order to expand their client base, and with only six guests required to qualify as a group, this new programme provides a great menu of amenities and benefits that will help them sell more easily.” Groups must have a minimum of three suites (six guests) to qualify for GAP and all bookings will receive the same amenities.
