Hotels in Singapore may relook the high rates they have been charging for the Formula One season this September.
Amid feedback that the rates were too high, a minister was quoted by The Straits Times that the government would continue to allow market forces to determine the prices.
Some trackside hotels have rates at over S$1,500, the report said.
“The hotels know that this is a long-term engagement,” said Senior Minister of State (Trade and Industry) S. Iswaran.
“They will, I think, do the right thing, in making sure that they price the rooms and make the rooms available correctly, so that…their customers will keep coming back repeatedly.
“This is not a one-shot deal,” he was quoted saying.
