South Pacific helps SMEs boost online bookings

The South Pacific Tourism Organisation (SPTO) and Fiji’s ministry of Tourism have held a workshop to help the region’s small and micro enterprises (SMEs) advance their online capabilities.
A total of 45 tourism-related SMEs attended the joint ‘e-Marketing Support Workshop’ in Nadi from 20-22 April, which was intended to provide small business owners with the tools and training needed to boost their online sales and handle online bookings.
The training included digital marketing, digital content, websites building and the development of booking and channel management tools.
“SPTO is pleased to collaborate with the Fijian Ministry of Tourism on this pilot programme that will assist our local SMEs keep up with the evolving changes in technology and to be able to leverage their business sales with today’s tech-savvy traveller,” said SPTO CEO, Ilisoni Vuidreketi.
The workshop was funded by the European Union under the Pacific Regional Tourism Capacity Building Programme.
