Yorkshire-based Spear Travels has expanded by acquiring Roy Cox Travel.
The four-strong team at Roy Cox’s Tettenhall business will retain their jobs in the takeover, which comes as Spear Travels looks to reach GBP15 million turnover for the first time in 2014.
The agency is also on the look-out for more expansion in Yorkshire and is also in the process of rolling out a new national brand in an investment programme worth GBP80,000.
A new website, email servers, IT upgrades and its back-office system are also being developed.
“We’re convinced our expansion is being driven by people who still want high-quality, personal service from travel experts who know the resorts and destinations, often from first-hand experience,” said Spear Travels’ managing director Peter Cookson.
“We’re delighted that we have been able to retain the existing staff who will continue to serve people from the Wolverhampton area, offering the same high standards of service we aim to provide to Spear Travels customers across the rest of the UK.”
