SpiceRoads Cycle Tours has launched a new multi-country bicycle tour – the Cultural Road from Hoi An to Siem Reap – that takes riders on a 700km, 14-day journey through Vietnam and Cambodia. The first scheduled departure is 8 January 2012.
Commencing in Hoi An, the tour travels through Vietnam’s Central Highlands to the remote border crossing of Le Thanh, before crossing into Cambodia’s sparsely populated Rattanakiri province. It then continues to the Angkor temple complex in Siem Reap.
The amount of cycling varies by day, from rides around temples in My Son and Angkor, to a challenging 110km day. A normal day’s ride can be anywhere between 50-80km, and a SpiceRoads support van will be on hand to help with more difficult stretches, as well as serving snacks and drinks.
Departure dates are 8 January, 5 February, 4 March, 30 September, 18 November, 23 December, all upcoming in 2012. For the majority of the trip cyclists will stay in hotel accommodation.
