THOMAS ARASI has been appointed to the newly-created role as President and Chief Executive Officer of Marina Bay Sands. Arasi, who will start immediately, previously held the same role with Lodigian, which operates 110 hotels in the US and Canada. Source: ChannelNewsAsia.

RINI WULANDARI has been appointed Corporate Director for Jakarta-based Marketing for Tauzia Hotel Management. Prior to joining Tauzia, Ms Wulandari served as Director of Sales & Marketing at the Majapahit Hotel Surabaya - formerly a Mandarin Oriental hotel.
CHRISTINE LIU has been appointed to the dual role of General Manager of Inflight Services and General Manager of International Affairs with Dragonair. Ms Liu was previously Dragonair’s Assistant General Manager Inflight Services.
LOUIS SAILER has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of Fullerton Hotels & Resorts and Chief Executive Officer of The Fullerton Heritage. A veteran hospitality, Sailer spent eight years with Raffles International. He will also remain GM of The Fullerton Hotel Singapore
AYLA HAAS has been announced as Swiss-Belhotel International’s new Regional Sales and Marcom Manager for the Middle East. Japanese-born and educated in New Zealand, Ms Haas most recently worked in Dubai with Abra Marine.
GEORGE BENNEY has been appointed General Manager of Shanghai JC Mandarin. A seasoned hotelier, Benney spent 28 years with Hyatt, and has had spells with Mandarin Oriental Jakarta and The Sukhothai Bangkok.
MUGI HARJO has been appointed General Manager for Swiss-Belhotel Kendari. Harjo has over 17 years of hospitality experience, with brands such as Le Meridien, Mandarin Oriental and Sol Elite in Indonesia.
PIERRE VERMEIR has joined communications agency, Keen, as its new Creative Director. Vermeir’s 30 years of industry experience has seen him manage accounts for Unilever, Barclays Bank, Royal Mail, and the 2005’s G8 Summit.
STEPHAN KAPEK has been announced as Hotel Manager of the new Traders Hotel Qaryat Al Beri, Abu Dhabi. Kapek joins the hotel from Shangri-La Hotel in Beijing where he held the position of Resident Manager for two years.
SUBHOMOY DE has been appointed General Manager of the Sarovar Portico hotel in Siliguri. De has 20 years experience with Fortune, The Park, Kenilworth and other chains. The new hotel is scheduled to open in September 2009.
KERIANN VON RAESFELD has been named as Chef de Cuisine at 150 Central Park - the signature restaurant of Royal Caribbean’s Oasis of the Seas liner. Ms von Raesfeld was the first American to win ‘Best Young Cook in the World’ award at the 2008 WACS Congress.
GARY FUNG has been appointed as General Manager at the Renaissance Yangtze Shanghai Hotel. Originally from Hong Kong, Fung has worked with Marriott in China for 18 years and has a background in Human Resources.
DAMIEN CHORLEY has been named as the new Executive Chef at the JW Marriott Dubai. Australian national Chorley has more than 15 years of culinary experience, most recently as Executive Sous Chef of JW Marriott Grosvenor House Hotel, London.
CHRISTINA CHENG has been announced as General Manager of the Harbour Plaza 8 Degrees, scheduled to open in Hong Kong in October. Ms Cheng has worked at hotel chains including Mandarin Oriental, Ritz-Carlton and The Peninsula.
