ANTOINE MEDAWAR has been appointed Vice President for Amadeus in the Middle East, based in Dubai. Previously based in Paris, Medawar was the Managing Director of Amadeus Hospitality Business Group where he was responsible for Amadeus’ worldwide hospitality business.
ANDREW FLACK has been appointed Vice President of Global Brand Marketing for the Hilton brand. In this newly created position, he will oversee Hilton brand marketing strategies and functions worldwide. A 20-year hotel industry veteran, Flack was previously Vice President Sales and Marketing - Hilton Asia Pacific.
JAMES McBRIDE has been appointed President of YTL Hotels. McBride returns to YTL where he served 10 years ago as the GM of The Ritz-Carlton, Kuala Lumpur. He has also worked in Penang, Washington DC, San Francisco, Hawaii, Singapore, Hong Kong and, most recently, the Carlyle Hotel in New York.
LINDA KELLY-SMITH has been named as Travelport GDS’s Product Manager - Mid-Back Office Solutions. Ms Kelly-Smith, who will start her new role in mid-August, possesses a broad range of travel technology experience, most recently being employed as Sabre Pacific’s Online Manager.
BELINDA DE ROME has been appointed Senior Vice President of Corporate Communications with Etihad Airways. Ms de Rome previously led the corporate communications team at Qantas Airways in Australia. She will be based at Etihad’s Abu Dhabi head office.
LISA BOLTON has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of adventure travel company, Aurora Expeditions. Ms Bolton previously held roles with Carnival Australia and Qantas Airways. The appointment follows the retirement of founder, Greg Mortimer.
SUSAN MARGARET NOONAN has been appointed General Manager of Six Senses Hideaway Yao Noi, in Phang Nga in Thailand. Ms Noonan has 18 years’ industry experience, and was previously GM of Six Senses Hideaway Con Dao and Evason Ana Mandara Villas Dalat in Vietnam.
DEAN WINTER has been appointed General Manager of The Upper House, a boutique hotel opening this October in Hong Kong. Winter previously managed the launch of Swire Hotels, overseeing pre-opening preparations for The Opposite House, which opened in Beijing in 2008.
BENJAMIN BANH has been appointed Director of Sales & Marketing at The Upper House. Banh has held senior sales management positions at hotels companies including Starwood, Carlson and Hyatt. Most recently he was Regional Director of Sales at Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts.
SEBASTIAN GOLDMANN has been appointed Food & Beverage Manager at the Hilton Chongqing. Prior to this new role, 12-year F&B veteran Goldmann was the Director of Food & Beverage at Radisson Hotel Shanghai Hong Quan.
SHIGERU AKASHI has been announced as the new Executive Chef at the Meritus Mandarin Singapore. Chef Akashi has 25 years of experience from working in Malaysia, Maldives, the US, Indonesia, Korea, New Zealand and Israel, including 8 years with the Hyatt Group.
WONG SIN DEE has been appointed Director of Sales - Tours & Travels/MICE at the Meritus Mandarin Singapore. Ms Wong has 14 years of hotel experience, including senior sales and marketing positions in The Elizabeth and Golden Landmark hotels in Singapore.
MICHAEL TANG has been appointed Executive Housekeeper at the Meritus Mandarin Singapore. Tang has 16 years of expertise in housekeeping, having held positions in hotels such as the Hilton Hotel Singapore, Orchard Hotel Singapore and The Beaufort Hotel Sentosa, Singapore.
DAMIAN SILLARS has been appointed General Manager of the Peppers Salt Resort & Spa, in Kingscliff, New South Wales. Sillars has spent the 10 years at several Peppers properties including GM roles at Peppers Springs Retreat, Peppers Links Resort, and most recently, Peppers Pier Resort.
SEEMA CHANDRA has been appointed Chief Financial Officer of Indian low-cost carrier, SpiceJet. Ms Chandra has 25 years finance experience, having worked with major companies such as Nestle India, Ranbaxy and HT Media, among others.
TIM TINDLE has been announced as General Manager of Pan Pacific Vancouver. In his most recent appointments, Tindle was GM at Vancouver Marriott Pinnacle and the Vancouver Airport Marriott, and has previous experience with Pan Pacific, Westin and New World hotels.
