Continued strikes at Air France could cost the airline group up to EUR500 million (GBP393m) as cancellations caused its passenger numbers to drop 16.3% in September.
The airline group carried 5.7 million passengers during September when 14 days of industrial action grounded 60% of its flights.
As a result Air France KLM now expected a third quarter operating profit of between EUR320m-350m, with the impact of the strikes and subsequent delay in customers booking ahead to dent it EBITDA by EUR500m.
This winter its schedule will increase around 0.7% in ASK with new flights between Paris and Brasilia as well as additional flights from Amsterdam to Atlanta. An A380 will also be used on flights to Abidjan and there is development at Tokyo Haneda.
Short and medium-haul capacity from both Paris and Amsterdam has increased 3.1%, although will be significantly reduced by 11.3% in summer 2015 particularly from French provincial bases.
