Strong January arrivals for S’pore

Participating co-exhibitors at the tourism pavilion include hotels and hotel groups; tourism training schools such as Tourism Management Institute of Singapore (TMIS) and Singapore Hotel and Tourism Education Centre (SHATEC); The Marina Bay Sands; Singapore Zoo and Jurong BirdPark; and Suntec Singapore International Convention & Exhibition Centre.
“Given the tourism industry’s continued good performance and the new additions, we expect some 50,000 to 60,000 additional tourism jobs to come on stream by the end of 2010.
“There are many opportunities for the right people with the right skills to fill these vacancies, as well as for people to get the appropriate training now to jumpstart their career in tourism,” said James Tan, Director, Resource Development, Singapore Tourism Board.
