The Sydney Harbour Marriott Hotel in Circular Quay is set complete the first stage of a US$20 million refurbishment in April 2011. The first stage of the project includes the revamp of all 550 accommodation suites, while the second stage will see the oberhaul of the Icons Brasserie, the Macquarie Lounge and a full facelift of all public areas. The second phase is scheduled for completion in September 2011.
New features of the upgraded Sydney Harbour accommodation includes large 42-inch flat screen LCD televisions in every room, as well as high speed wireless internet and an iPod docking station. Each room offers unobstructed city, harbour and Opera House views.
Sydney Harbour Marriott’s owner representative, John Van der Wallen of Colonial First State, partnered with design and architecture firm, CHADA, to create the new look under architect Michael Watson.
