TDME has been conceived to bring
you – the Middle East travel
trade – the latest industry
news, product and service updates, interviews, reviews,
comment pieces, mystery shopping exercises as well as
competitions, topical features and coverage of trade shows
and events relevant to your profession.
The newsletter, which is a sister title to Travel Daily Asia
(TDA) and Travel Daily UK (TDUK), will initially be sent to you
every Thursday. However, we intend to extend this to a daily
news service in October.
Not only that, but we have an exciting TV project in the works
to complement the newsletter.
Travel Daily TV (TDTV) will be launched in May and will
initially bring daily web TV bulletins to the UK and Asia
markets.
However, demand for this medium in the Middle East is
already strong, with travel suppliers banging down our doors
to get a dedicated web TV service for the region’s travel trade
and so we hope that in no time at all, you’ll be able to both
read – and view – the news that impacts your industry online.
In addition, the TDTV website will eventually become a onestop-
shop for all travel trade video material, from destination
reports and hotel reviews to interviews with industry notables.
We aim to make it as easy as possible for travel agents to sell
the vast range of travel products now on offer to their clients
by providing TV coverage that does the job for you – just
press play and reveal the beaches of Thailand, the highlights
of London or a review of their chosen hotel.
Having lived and worked in Dubai for the past four years, I
have witnessed the evolution of the region’s travel industry.
Despite the many challenges – a global recession and fi erce
competition, to name but a few – the trade continues to forge
ahead with exciting new projects and ventures while adapting
its business model to suit the ever-changing economic and
social climates.
The launch of TDME caters to the needs of today’s Middle
East travel industry – one that has matured well,
changed with the times and importantly, is
e-savvy.
We look forward to having you on board
as avid readers and welcome your
feedback, ideas and suggestions.
But for now, enjoy this issue and tell your
travel industry colleagues about TDME.
Why wait months for your trade magazine
to be delivered when you can read the
latest industry news today?
