Thailand and Laos are inaugurating the completion of a rail link across the Mekong Bridge in May, The Bangkok Post reported.
The rail link’s construction began in late 2006 and links the Thai border town of Nong Khai to Thanaleng, near the Laotian capital of Vientiane.
The report said 800,000 Thais visited Laos last year, up from 700,000 in 2006. Thailand is the major source market for Laos tourism.
