CARLOS TARRERO has been named as the new general manager of Phulay Bay, A Ritz-Carlton Reserve in Krabi. The move marks a promotion for Tarrero, who has been director of operations at the luxury resort since June 2012. He has previously worked in Spain, the UK and Indonesia.
MARCO ROCA has been announced as Hard Rock International’s new executive vice president of hotel development. He will now be tasked with expanding the group’s portfolio across the world. Roca has more than 25 years of experience, including roles with Starwood, Wyndham and Hilton.
RICK ALLEN has joined Etihad Airways as senior vice president of operations. With more than 30 years’ experience, Allen is a fully-qualified pilot and holds a licence for the Boeing 777 aircraft. He arrives at Etihad from Air Canada, where he served as managing director of flight operations.
EDDIE TANG has become the new general manager of The Castle Hotel, A Luxury Collection Hotel Dalian. Tang moves to the hotel from another Starwood property in China, the Westin Ningbo Hotel, where he also served as GM. His career has also included spells with Shangri-La and Marriott.
CHRISTOPHER BOHWONGPRASERT has become the new director of sales & marketing for Hansar Hotels & Resorts. He has more than 12 years’ experience, with major hotel brands including Sofitel, Ramada and Marriott, and most recently he held the same role at the Marrakesh Hua Hin Resort.
STEPHANE SIMOND has been appointed executive chef at the Alila Villas Uluwatu. A 38-year-old French national, Chef Stephane has worked at hotels and restaurants in France, Switzerland, and the Caribbean before arriving in Asia. He was previously executive chef at the Cassis restaurant in Jakarta.
