Thomson Airways has started a ‘teddy bear check-in’ for children at Leeds Bradford Airport.
The company, which initially gave children tags to put round their toys have expanded the service to include a VIB passport (very important bear)for those wanting to take their bears onboard.
Carl Gissing, director of customer service for thomson airways, said: “As a family friendly holiday company, we have been delighted to see the success of the VIB service and were keen to find ways to refresh it. We always like to make a fuss of children travelling on our holidays, both in resort and on their flight, so extending our VIB programme to include the new passport was a great way to keep track of their cuddly companion’s travels. Not only will the children continue to travel in the knowledge that their beloved bears are safe and well, the passport will provide entertainment for the child whilst on board our aircraft.”
Emma Holliday, leisure sales executive at Leeds Bradford Airport, said: “Thomson offers a fantastic range of family holidays from Leeds Bradford, Yorkshire’s gateway airport. We are delighted that Thomson continually builds on their great customer service, to ensure our young passengers and their cuddly companions start their holiday with a smile. We look forward to continue working with Thomson to provide fantastic service for Yorkshire’s holidaymakers.”
