Work has been completed on a new highway linking the Tibetan capital, Lhasa with Gonggar airport. The 38km-long, four-lane road is Tibet’s first expressway cost CNY1.6 billion (US$241 million) to build, and is expected to halve travelling times between Lhasa city centre and the airport. The expressway starts at the Lhasa Railway Station.
